Climbing to the Illiniza South

Itinerary:

Day 1: From Latacunga very early in the morning, drive to the Ilinizas Ecological Reserve in 4x4 vehicles to the place called La Virgen (3.900m.) We continue for 3 hours of trekking to reach the refuge Nuevos Horizontes 4.700m. Dinner and rest.

Day 2: At 3:00 am sharp we ascend by the normal route to the summit 5.263m. In approximately 3 hours, 2 hours for the descent to the refuge, return to Latacunga.
